MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR - October 2004

You are warmly invited to

JUST TEN LINCOLNSHIRE

at Lincoln Cathedral

What is Just 10 Lincolnshire?

Over ten Wednesday evenings between 6 April and 8 June 2005 churches of all denominations from across Lincolnshire will be inviting thousands of people to consider the relevance of the Ten Commandments to their lives today.

Who presents Just 10 Lincolnshire?

This is a series of talks, called "Just 10", presented by J John who is considered one of the most relevant, incisive and thought provoking Christian communicators in our country today. He has an appeal that transcends gender, age, culture and occupation. His much-loved art of story telling helps people to discover spiritual meaning in a way that makes sense of everyday life and his 'wit and wisdom' style of teaching all combine to seriously challenge this generation.

J John has spoken at thousands of gatherings in towns, cities, universities and cathedrals in 23 countries and 5 continents. He is married to Killy and has three sons, Michael, Simeon and Benjamin.

Who is Just 10 Lincolnshire for?

Adults and young people of all ages and backgrounds from Lincoln and the towns and villages around the county, and beyond. Those who come regularly to church, those who come to church only for weddings, funerals, harvest and Christmas. People we know and love: family members, colleagues and fellow students. Those we pray for because we care about them: people in need, the marginalised, those searching for meaning and purpose to their lives.

J John deliberately begins his series of talks at the tenth commandment. Over ten Wednesday evenings he works his way backwards to the first commandment. His first talk is entitled 'How to find true contentment' - isn't that something we are all looking for?

See you there!
