NOCTON PARISH COUNCIL wishes to make parishioners aware that the Nocton Hall and the ex-hospital site is in a very dangerous condition and no-one should enter it.  A survey on behalf of NKDC has confirmed that there is in some of the damaged buildings damaged asbestos in such a state that it will give off fibres if disturbed.  Entering a building is sufficient to make these very light fibres airborne so that they can be inhaled without knowledge.  This can cause incurable lung disease in later years so young people are particularly at risk.  In addition, there are other hazards as buildings are structurally unsafe, manholes without covers and much broken glass.  NKDC have taken formal action by serving a statutory notice on the owners to address health and safety issues.  The next Parish Council meeting will be at 7 pm on Tuesday 6th December.

Nocton Hall – there will be a meeting at the Village Hall at 2 pm on Monday 5th December with English Heritage, NKDC and Heritage Lincolnshire to discuss the possible saving of Nocton Hall. All are welcome.

At the ACE/RIBA Awards ceremony at the Design Council in London on 9th November, our ‘user friendly’  pebble mosaic church path was highly commended, coming a close second to Liverpool Catholic Cathedral for the £3000 award.  Congratulations to everyone who helped to achieve such a marvelous result.
