GARDEN FETE
Inclement weather on Saturday 26 June 2004 didn't deter our many visitors to the fete. Our thanks to Mike and Caroline Boltz particularly, but to all who participated with many stalls, highly commendable Village Art, refreshments, beautiful church decorations, barbeque by the Corrigans and the Handbell Ringers from Washingborough. We are considering making this an annual event so any comments for the next fete to Mike Boltz please.
ORGAN REFURBISHMENT
A quotation by Henry Groves and Sons Ltd to completely rebuild our fine 130 year old organ for a sum of £7650 has been accepted. Now all we have to do is find the money! More on this later!
CATHEDRAL LIBRARY
You may know that Nicholas Bennett, the Cathedral Librarian, lives in the village. A programme of Library events throughout the winter is available in the church or direct from Lincoln Cathedral Library, Lincoln LN2 1PZ (please enclose SAE).
FROM THE REGISTER
Lee Francis Cotton and Karen Cotton were married on 29 July 2004. Congratulations and good luck to them both.
CHURCH PATH
Many of you will have noticed the disabled access going into the the north porch of the church. This is prior to the commencement of the church path. We hope that the path will be finished and ready for the Dedication by the Bishop of Lincoln on the evening of 26 July 2004. Please book the date in your diaries.
*** STOP PRESS *** Due to an unforeseen delay in completion of the church path the Bishop's visit has been postponed to Monday 23 August at 7 pm.
NOCTON WI
We exhibited in the WI tent at the Lincolnshire Show and came third overall for the Federation Rose Bowl. We are only a small group of 14 members and are looking for ladies to join us. We meet on the 2nd Monday of the month. We take an active part in Witham Group activities - Produce Show on 5 September 2004, Treasure Hunt in Wragby in July and a Carol Service in December, which is in Nocton this year. We usually have a Flower Arranging Workshop in the Autumn, plus outings, BBQs and lots of fun.
