NOCTON PARISH COUNCIL

Amongst items discussed at the June Meeting were the provision of a play area for small children.

Now that the interior of the Village Hall has been decorated, quotes have been sought for the painting of the exterior.

Traffic, particularly lorries, speeding into the village is a constant concern and the Road Safety Partnership have been asked for their help.

The cutting of the grass verges by the County Council contractors was inadequately done.

Nocton Hall has been a concern of the P.C. since its closure, since the fire it has become a major concern.  With material being taken from the Hall the Chairman wrote to the owners and has received written confirmation that they have given no-one permission to remove anything from the Hall or the hospital site.  NKDC continue to work towards a solution.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 5th July at 7pm in the Village Hall.

THE CRICKET CLUB had an enjoyable Village v Village match on Sunday 22 May with juniors, regulars and irregulars forming mixed teams.  A draw was declared when there was thunder and lightning at about 7pm, so the cricket had to finish and we were compelled to start the barbeque!  It was good to see a group of former cricketers and supporters come to join us for tea, although it was too cold to stay long!

The Clubs thanks go to Jill Pattinson for running the barbeque and Dominic Grant for baking the cakes for the cricket tea.
