Newsletter - October 2003
SERVICES
Darrol Reagon is having increasing difficulty in finding retired clergy to undertake service commitments and both Nocton and Potterhanworth may well have to reduce services to two a month. In the meantime, we will try to spread the word if a service has to be cancelled.
HARVEST THANKSGIVING
More than 50 attended an excellent Harvest Thanksgiving and Harvest Supper.
Many thanks to all helpers and decorators - the Church looked very beautiful and the food was very tasty and the Lincolnshire stuffed chine was a real treat. Over £75 was raised for the Bishop's Appeal for Tirunelveli in South India. Thank you also for the food gifts which will be conveyed to the Lincoln Community Larder.
ANNUAL CYCLE RIDE
Also thanks to those who manned the church for the Cycle Ride and to the Eagle family who raised a substantial amount for the church and the Old Churches Trust with many miles of cycling.
'BREAKING BREAD'
Choir practice continues at about 10.15 am on Saturday mornings. Please note the service as well when all are welcome 6.00 pm at Branston church on 19 October 2003.
CHURCH PATH PROJECT
Note also Cliff Baxendale is continuing with the Church Path project. Every two weeks on Saturday from 10.00 am - 12.30 pm and 1.3 pm - 4.00 pm. The next session is 11 October. Young creative "adults" are also welcome - in years to come, you can say, "I made that".
RESTORATION
You will no doubt be pleased to see the scaffolding down. The church is now watertight! We move onto the next phase in terms of our planned toilet facilities and the restoration of the interior decorations. Watch this space!
CLOCK CHANGE
A reminder that British Summer Time ends at 2.00 am on 26 October 2003.
