DARROL REAGON

The Revd Darrol Reagon’s final service in Branston on 9^th September was attended by some 200 people. Darrol has now moved to his retirement cottage in Hampshire and our good wishes go with him.

The period between resident priests (incumbents) is called inter-regnum and this period will continue for at least 6 months and maybe longer depending on deanery resources. In the meantime, we are very lucky to have the assistance of both Terry Stokes and Bryan Barrodale, but both are trying to enjoy their retirement as well as ministering to our needs which mean such jobs as visiting, assemblies, funerals and the like will have to be shared around the three parishes.

There will also be occasions when it is necessary to travel a bit further than Potterhanworth in the future but we will keep you informed as far as possible.

HARVEST THANKSGIVING

An excellent service taken by Bryan Barrodale and Nigel Dickin attended by some 70 – most of whom went to the magnificent supper afterwards provided by Nocton ladies who also decorated the Church.

Many thanks to them and everyone thoroughly enjoyed good food and company.

‘The Last Years of an Estate Village’

This month sees the launch of Sheila Redshaw and Sue Morris’ work over the last few years.

Copies of the book are available from them at a very modest cost considering the great effort that has gone into this production.

Friends of Nocton School

Our 2008 school calendar will be on sale fro 29^th October, from the school or Post Office. The children have drawn a picture of themselves displayed on the month of their birthday. They are priced at £3.00 or £2.50 for more than one.

BAG2SCHOOL - the next collection is on 7^th November at 9 am. We are collecting old clothes and soft furnishings. Please contact the school on 01526 320234 and a time will be arranged for collection.
