DARROL REAGON

As you will know, our Rector for the last 15 years, Darrol Reagon is to retire on Medical grounds. Darrol has decided that the final Eucharist at which he will preside as our Rector will be held at Branston Parish Church on Sunday 9^th Sept 2007 beginning at 11.00am. It will be the only service in the Group that day. A presentation will be made to Darrol and Sue during the service and contributions can be made via the Churchwardens marked “Nocton PCC, Rectors retirement fund”.

We continue to thank Bryan Barrodale and Terry Stokes for assisting us with the Parish Church workload.

HARVEST THANKSGIVING

Bryan Barrodale will officiate at our service at 4.00pm on Sunday 23^rd September.

As usual, this will be followed by the Harvest Supper at the Village Hall. Tickets are available from Ann Kennedy on 01526322739 at £5, the same price as last year.

We do hope you will be able to come.

JOINT EUCHARIST

Please note that Nocton are the host for the Joint Service on Sunday 30 Sept when Bryan Barrodale will be preaching.

NOCTON PARISH COUNCIL

Litter and dog fouling along the bridle path to Dunston has been a problem, to alleviate this, the Parish Council have installed 2 dog waste bins, one at the village end and one at the junction to the cricket field. Unfortunately not all dog walkers are considerate enough to clean up after their charges and use the facilities provided. All other users of the bridle path would be grateful if all dog walkers would clean up after their dogs and use the dog waste bins. It is an offence not to clean up after a dog in your charge and a fine is possible.

NOCTON CRICKET CLUB

On Sunday 12 August, the Cricket Club held its annual friendly match, when Dominic Grant and Sue Newton provided a light tea, and Andy Chapple the barbeque. The tuck shop raised £18 and the BBQ £66, both for the Club. The raffle raised £60 for the new children’s play area. Oh… and the chairman’s team beat the president’s team by 2 runs in an exciting game.
