A very well attended meeting was held on 5th August at the Village Hall where village residents were unanimously against the Planning Application to use the hospital grounds for war games. No real surprise there!!!
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Harvest Thanksgiving will be held on Sunday 12th October at 4 pm with Harvest Supper in the Village Hall afterwards.
The ‘Annual’ Concert from Lincoln Choral Society will be held on Saturday 20th December during the evening.
Church Bells
A full peal (3 hours) will be rung on Friday 19th September, Saturday 20th September or Sunday 21st September.
However, those of you who find the church bells a little too loud will be pleased to hear that we are undertaking a noise reduction exercise in the belfry this winter by boarding up the 4 belfry louvre windows.
Church work
I have arranged roofing repairs for the few slipped tiles, so if you see a person on the roof, I would suggest it may not be a burglar.
However, I would ask all to be vigilant as there are many more thefts of oil and lead in these hard times. We do try to keep the church tank reasonably empty but suspicious car number plates should be noted – Potterhanworth not only had the oil stolen from their tank but two of their residents also had theirs stolen last month, so it pays to be vigilant.
